- Abstract: April, affectionately known as The STEM Broker, is a STEM parent of three children. In addition to her role as Global Cybersecurity Awareness Manager at a Fortune 50 company, she also consults other parents and businesses on how to encourage the NextGen to pursue a career in STEM. Her eldest daughter, Zaria is embarking on her own career in IT at a local gaming startup after successfully completing two internships in emerging technology. April's book "The Top 5 Rules of Engagement for Parents Raising a Girl in STEM" chronicles her journey as a STEM parent and provides tips on how to inspire youth to actively pursue a STEM career. This STEM family also includes, April's youngest daughter, Nyah (21) who is pursing a degree in Civil Engineering (water sanitation emphasis), and her son (17) who is a former competitive drone pilot. Come hear more from this mother-daughter duo on how they successfully navigate their own STEM careers.
